For Those of You Coming in from The Cold
December 5th, 2006 at 11:51am Bryan
Be aware that things could dramatically change with little or no notice. Since ZaZa is buried in the nuts and bolts of getting things set up, I’m going to administrate & moderate for the time being. If you have a problem or a concern, contact me at bryanjweitzel@bjwcreations.com. If it’s something I can handle through administration, I’ll do it. If it’s something ZaZa needs to be aware of, I’ll add it to the “TO DO” list.
A few things to be aware of…
1. If you comment… for the time being, a display name and e-mail address are required. This will be changing soon so that we are more lurker-friendly. I will update this message when that is done and tested.
UPDATE: [06DEC2006 2:30PM EST]
Anonymous comments are now permitted. All fields are optional.
2. Your first comment will wait for me to moderate it… once you have an approved comment, future comments will post immediately provided that you use the same display name & e-mail address combo. Again, this is temporary. We will change this to be completely open so that we are lurker-friendly.
UPDATE: [06DEC2006 2:30PM EST]
Comments are only moderated if they contain 2 or more links within them (most spammers have links gallore). If anyone thinks this should be raised to 3 or 4 or unlimited, let me know.
3. If the site is unavailable for any reason, the most likely cause is that ZaZa is uploading files. Check back in a half hour or so.
4. If posts or comments disappear… Oops… we are in flux, and at this point backing up posts and comments is low in the priorities. Once we are more stable, we will do our utmost to preserve our history.
5. This is the blog portion of the project only at this point. We need a place to sit and chat first. Then later we’ll design the whole house. The website can wait. The blog can’t. If you have website ideas, continue to forward them to Lori, or raise the idea on HWSW until we’ve officially moved here.
6. Be patient… but at the same time, be involved. As things start to change, contact me NOT ZaZa regarding suggestions, problems or concerns. I used to do software design for a living and I can tell you that while you are in the middle of a project like this, it’s best to deal with a middleman rather than the designer directly. My job is going to be to organize the list of problems and concerns, and to present it to ZaZa when she’s ready for the next step. It’s better to handle things this way rather than have her trickled (or even flooded) to death with one and two issues every time she turns around.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation as we get the new digs set up.
