You can still use this feature if you want me to hand-deliver the images.

The printing is performed by the same lab that I use if I’m handling the order personally.  This is just a way for me to be able to process internet orders for clients who are out of town, or who prefer shopping online.

To view your images, go to http://bjwcreations.lifepics.com/ and enter your event code when asked.

Just a Note About the Changes Taking Place Here http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/52 http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/52#comments Sun, 30 Dec 2007 09:31:01 +0000 Bryan http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/52 This site is undergoing some changes as I reconfigure it to suit the needs of a full-time photographer.  Most of the major changes to the theme and the behind the scenes coding are already in place.  There will be a few tweaks here and there as I find problems (like the number of comments on posts not displaying correctly), but most of the new changes will be additional content or changes to the existing content.

For instance, I am currently working on the pricing pages.

The galleries will be modified to reflect the categories of work that I offer.  “Lingerie” will either disappear or be merged with “Artistic Nudes” and then renamed to “Glamour Shots” or “Modeling Portfolios”.  Some images will disappear, others will be added.  I hope to have the majority of these changes completed by the end of January.  If a link doesn’t seem to do anything, it’s because the page isn’t ready yet.  If it looks like a link normally looks, the page should be fine.  If you notice any major problems, let me know.

Photoshoot with Melissa http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/49 http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/49#comments Tue, 28 Aug 2007 17:55:16 +0000 Bryan http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/49 A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of working with Melissa Troutt, a model from the DC suburbs of Virginia.  She has officially retired from modeling now, so I was one of the last photographers, if not the last to have the opportunity to work with her.  And it was my pleasure.

We started off around two in the afternoon.  We spent a few minutes taking care of paperwork and looking over wardrobe options before heading out and about downtown.  I wanted to try to get some professional/lifestyle looks, and we selected two outfits to try.

Melissa009     Melissa034     Melissa036

These three were taken in front of the courthouse and city hall buildings.  The blouse is pretty sheer, so I had her put a cami on underneath so we wouldn’t get arrested.  As you’ll see later, things don’t always go according to plan.  No, we didn’t get arrested, but we very well could have.

Melissa060

After a change of clothes, we went back out, this time heading the other direction.  I had just a little black and white film left in the camera, so I planned to stop by a little bistro to shoot some more business style before we went over to the switching station where there were pillars I could use to play off her red skirt.  It started to rain a bit on the way over as you can tell by Melissa’s slightly damp hair and the rain spots on her skirt.  She was under an awning, so she wasn’t getting any wetter, but we weren’t going anywhere else without getting drenched.  And by the way, I’m not under the awning, so I am getting wetter.

Eventually, we decide to do it anyway, not without a little nervousness on my part.  After all, I don’t have an assistant to keep my camera dry, and there is some lightning about and the last thing I need is a fried model.  I ask her if she’s sure, and we go for it.

Melissa076     Melissa085

Needless to say, Melissa wasn’t wearing anything under this blouse.  That was actually by design.  I wanted to get a few shots that showed a bit of cleavage, in a sexy-business sort of way.  I’ll show you what I mean later when I write up a previous shoot.  We never had time to get the shot I had intended.  And for the record, rain was not on the agenda for the day, much less a downpour that left three inches of water running through the alley we were in.

It was fun to do, but in the future I need to figure out a way to keep the camera dry while shooting.  I had a horrible time keeping water off the lens, and had some potentially good shots hosed because the lens focused on water spots.

Next, it was indoors to dry off and continue with the shoot.  This was the only photoshoot that I’ve ever been involved with where the photographer needed a wardrobe change.  I made a quick run home while Melissa dried off and redid her makeup.  I brought my clothes to the shoot location because, well, if I didn’t I’d be soaked again, eh?

Melissa088

We did a quick three or four shots in the CherryBomb uniform before moving on to a blue corset.  And then it was the artistic nudes.

Melissa143

This is one of the “safe” ones, and by that I mean one of the ones where the outcome is a known result for me rather than an experiment.  I followed the black and white session with a color session, which may be revealed at a later date.

Melissa187

This little dress here was something I’d actually wanted to shoot in a garden or park, but, you know, the rain.

And now we get to the entire reason that I wanted to work with Melissa in the first place.  Her headshots.

Melissa223     Melissa226     Melissa238

I just love that look.  I’ve seen many headshots of Melissa, and there’s just something about her that inspires, I think.  The last headshot in the row looks like she’s not wearing a top, but she was actually wearing this piece of lingerie:

Melissa259

And yes, she is bottomless.  Actually, she’s bottomless in the first two headshots as well.  Sometimes it’s best that I not ask questions and just shoot.  This was one of those times.

All in all, quite an enjoyable experience if you ask me.  I’d recommend working with Melissa, but alas, that’s no longer possible.  I’m just glad I got the opportunity.

Ujena Affiliate http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/32 http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/32#comments Sat, 23 Jun 2007 19:39:14 +0000 Bryan http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/32 Recently, I’ve become a huge fan of Ujena Swimwear.  Their talent site for models and photographers is great; I’ve already shot with one model there and I am seriously considering a trip to Spain next year to participate in a Bikini Jam.

But in addition to the networking possibilities, I’ve also decided to become an affiliate.  Essentially, it means that you can use this site as a link to Ujena, go shopping, and get free shipping.  Alternatively, if you go directly to Ujena Swimwear you can use Promo Code 983 to get free shipping.

They’ve got great stuff… go take a look.  I think the only place I like to shop more is Victoria’s Secret.

Wedding Portfolio Shoot http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/31 http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/31#comments Sun, 17 Jun 2007 22:00:04 +0000 Bryan http://bjwcreations.com/photography/archives/31 I had a photoshoot yesterday that I’ve been wanting to do for a while now.  I need to create a wedding portfolio to make it easier to develop more leads for shooting actual weddings.  While weddings are not my favorite type of photography, they are the most lucrative, and since I have very little overhead involved, I can actually pass on a significant savings to the bride and still make good money on the deal.

So anyway, I brought in a model I’ve worked with before, with a dress I bought on e-bay, and shot some bridal portraits.  Of course, I didn’t need hours and hours to get what I needed and so we shot some other stuff too.  She’s here anyway, right?  And then to top it all off, I was contacted by another model who wanted to shoot with me and figured I’d do two in one day.  That, my friends, may have been a mistake.  Not because I didn’t enjoy the day.  I did.  But I’m in a lot of pain today.  My back, my knees, even the muscles in my thighs.  Twelve hours of weird positions, getting up and down, and lugging equipment around takes a toll.  I think I drank about 4 liters of water yesterday.

Anyway, once I get results back in about two weeks, I’ll post them here.

I will have more in the way of Landscape and Architecture images in the store once I get better scans.
